Skiing in Svaneti is a majestic experience and is one of the tours in Georgia Country that you should not miss. Svaneti offers two skiing resorts: a relatively small Hatsvali resort and recently opened Tetnuldi Ski Resort. Tetnuldi is especially excellent choice for experienced skiers. It has three lifts at the elevation of 2700m, 3040m, and 3165 m. each day we drive from Mestia to Tetnuldi Ski resort. In addition to Skiing, Svaneti also offers a culturally fascinating experience. It is a home to the legend of the Golden Fleece; has a particular architectural style with 1000 old towns and villages fortified by Svan towers and houses. A unique blend of mountains scenery and local architecture and traditions creates a majestic fairy-tale for visitors. Here you can also take an optional day trips in Svaneti.
Itinerary:
Day 1 – Airport Transfer – Tbilisi Sightseeing
Arrive in Tbilisi. Our guide and driver will meet you in the airport and take you to your hotel. After you take your time to relax and make check-in, we start a cultural sightseeing tour in Tbilisi. A tour in the old town of Tbilisi suggests visitors an introductory to Georgian culture and history. Visit the ancient neighborhoods of Tbilisi where you can explore the Sulphur baths and narrow streets with beautiful 19th century houses with wooden balconies. Explore ancient and medieval architecture including churches, museums, houses and fortresses. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2 -Tbilisi- Enguri Dam -Mestia
We will meet at your hotel and drive to Svaneti. After 4 hours driving, we stop at Enguri dam which is one of the highest arch dam in the world (a height of 271.5m). Then we drive to the region of Upper Svaneti which is an outstanding example of an exceptional mountain landscape composed of highly preserved villages with unique defensive tower houses, examples of ecclesiastical architecture and arts of medieval origin. Visit the museum of History and ethnography and Svanetian Architectural Museum in Mestia and explore small town by walking into the narrow streets, visiting small cafes and local souvenirs shops. Overnight in Mestia

Day 3 – Mestia- Hatsvali-Mestia
After a hearty breakfast at our local guesthouse, we will depart to Hatsvali. It is located in 8 km from Mestia and has three lifts: red route (1900m), Blue route (2600) and a special trail for the beginners. The highest point from where you can ski is mount Zuruldi ( 2347m). After several hours skiing, we return to Mestia.
Day 4 – Mestia – Tetnuldi Ski Resort – Mestia
In the morning, we drive to Tetnuldi ski resort. Here you can take lifts at different levels depends on your skiing experience and wish. Overnight in Mestia
Day 5 – Mestia – Tetnuldi Ski Resort – Mestia
After breakfast, we travel to Tetnuldi ski resort. We ski for a whole day and enjoy with picturesque panorama views of the Greater Caucasus mountains. Overnight in Mestia
Day 6 Mestia -Zugdidi-Tbilisi
In the morning, we travel to Zugdidi, and then Kutaisi or Tbilisi. Transfer to the Airport.
Additional Information:
This skiing tour’s duration can shorten or extend on your behalf. However, at least 4 days are recommended due to the relatively long distance from Tbilisi to Svaneti. This tour is for everyone and can be combined with other tours in Georgia.
